PEOPLE’S POWER MINISTRY
FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS
COMMUNIQUÉ
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of his Government and the people of Venezuela, expresses his fraternal words of congratulations to the brotherly people of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, to commemorate the 191st anniversary of their Declaration of independence, a solemn act which lighted the revolutionary flame of the Peoples of the Eastern Province, on August 25, 1825.
From the Homeland of Simon Bolivar we vindicate with joy and hope that the spirit of Piedra Alta continues to guide the Uruguayan nation in the building of the unity and integration grounded in our beautiful South America, by the hand of Presidents Tabaré Vazquez, Hugo Chávez, Luiz Inácio “Lula” Da Silva, Nestor Kirchner, Rafael Correa and Evo Morales.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela ratifies the ties of friendship, respect and cooperation that unite both nations, and reiterates its determination to continue promoting the construction of the Great Latin American Homeland, to ensure the irreversibility of the time of the Peoples.
With Hugo Chavez we say today: “Simon Rodriguez, that great teacher and Bolivarian, defined what he called the perfect friendship, the triple friendship as he said, writing to Bolivar on some occasion, I think it was one of the last letters he sent to Bolivar, the perfect friendship, the triple friendship, the friendship of affection which is physical, is chemistry, joined with the spiritual friendship, and these two joined by the intellectual friendship, when are shared the ideas, the feelings, the affection, that is the perfect friendship, that’s the friendship that binds us … to the Governments of Uruguay and Venezuela … to the two Peoples … ”
