President Maduro criticizes silence of the opposition before announcement of the installation of dialogue in Mexico

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, commented this Sunday that the silence of the opposition 24 hours after announcing the installation of the Dialogue Table in Mexico next August is striking.

During the presentation of the weekly balance of the fight against Covid19, the Head of State ratified his willingness to initiate dialogue with the representatives of the different sectors of the Venezuelan opposition in Mexico City, as he assured that everything is ready to sit down to debate next August.

However, he expressed concern that the right wing maintains an unusual silence in the last 24 hours after this announcement.

He emphasized that “this will be a very demanding dialogue because they must sign for the sanctions and blockade to end. It is important to participate in the debate, defend the truth with arguments, you have to win and convince with dialogue”, he said.

In this sense, he again urged the sectors that oppose the Revolution to move away from the path of the coup and invited everyone to sign in favor of lifting all sanctions against the country, for the gold that was retained by England to be returned and so that the more than 30 billion dollars in international reserves of the country are returned.

“Neither Cuba nor Venezuela will get on our knees”:

Referring to the interview conducted by journalist Patricia Villegas exclusively for Telesur, during which he offered her appreciation of what happened in Cuba in recent weeks and the effects of the blockade on the Caribbean nation, he assured that after July 11, have been triggered two processes of interest, the blossoming of solidarity towards Cuba and a process of self-reflection in the Cuban society:

The world has realized the serious damage that the blockade has caused to the Cuban people, especially in these times of pandemic. The countries of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement, the ALBA, Russia, China, the Arab world, Mexico with its worthy president who mobilized ships with aid, a concrete, active solidarity, from the peoples of the world towards Cuba”, he said.

Secondly, he considered that a process of self-reflection has been generated within the Cuban society: “The Cuban people is a cultured people, with a conscience, and the Cuban people has begun to draw their own conclusions”, he assured.

In this regard, he referred that by broadening the spectrum, the heart of the matter is the sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela, whose goal, as he affirmed, is to colonize both peoples:

They do a lot of damage and sometimes confuse our peoples. Neither the people of Cuba nor the people of Venezuela do surrender, we stand up. I have the absolute assurance and the absolute faith that with loyalty to our founding fathers and mothers, we will overcome”, he concluded.
