COMMUNIQUÉ
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and the people, commemorated by the Government and people of the Republic of Colombia the 206 anniversary of the Cry of its independence. Colombia was born in the Orinoco river, was freed by the sword of Simon Bolivar and was inspired by Francisco de Miranda. Our peoples together transited this path of more than two centuries of history.
On this date we pay tribute to the liberator spirit of great men such as Francisco Jose de Caldas and Antonio Nariño, who raised their voices against oppression to guide the first steps of an independence movement that marked the future of many generations, realizing the dream of the Great Homeland of our Liberator in common.
Along with the millions of Colombian sisters and brothers who came to Venezuela hoping to get a better future, we commemorate this historic event marked by freedom and independence of peoples. In the soul of Commander Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian Revolution, our Colombian brothers got to get rest to their dreams of peace and prosperity.
This new anniversary of the Independence of Colombia is punctuated with a real hope of true peace for the people of this nation, which has the support of the Venezuelan Government in such a noble purpose, added to the unity of the Neo-granadine People and the true integration of Our Americas; a reality hailed by Commander Hugo Chavez, who insisted on that “The day on that will be signed peace in Colombia, there will be a party in Venezuela and on the continent. Bolivar already said it: Peace is my port “.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, a lover of justice and peace for all the brotherly peoples of the continent, takes the opportunity to reiterate to the brotherly people and Government of Colombia, its congratulations on this memorable date.
