The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the integral defense of the national territory against possible imperialist aggression.
The statement was made after his participation in the march commemorating the Bicentennial of the Sword of Peru presented to the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
The National Dignitary extended this defensive call to all components of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, including the Bolivarian Militia and the structures of the Strategic Regions of Integral Defense (REDI), Operational Zones of Integral Defense (ZODI), and Areas of Integral Defense (ADI).
He also called upon the police forces and grassroots organizations to maintain a state of constant vigilance.
The call specifically included the 49,000 communal councils, 5,336 communal circuits, and more than 235,000 Bolivarian Comprehensive Base Committees.
The President emphasized the need to coordinate all social sectors in the defense of the homeland.
During his address, the Head of State recalled the historic feat of the Liberator Simón Bolívar in the creation of seven army corps. He stressed that the Venezuelan people must emulate this organizational capacity to protect every corner of the national territory.
He warned of seventeen weeks of imperialist siege by the United States government.
He denounced that this strategy seeks to seize the energy resources that legitimately belong to the Venezuelan nation.
In this vein, he called on the entire population to remain united and vigilant against any external threat.
Likewise, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to national sovereignty and the self-determination of the Venezuelan people.
