The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the success and massive participation in the Fourth National Popular Consultation, held on Sunday, November 23, qualifying the journey as a resounding demonstration of true democracy.
Through a post on his channel on Telegram, the Head of State highlighted the positive aspects of the process: “The outcome is successful and extraordinary: exemplary organization, territorial diversity, and a resounding demonstration that true democracy is built with the people,” expressed the Dignitary.
The President also emphasized that this new civic journey “ratifies that voting is a sovereign right that is exercised with maturity,” highlighting the people’s conduct during the process.
Popular Starring Role in the Election of Projects:
One of the points most emphasized by the President was the central role of the communities. He highlighted that, in 5,336 community districts, the people’s power was expressed “with clarity, awareness, and commitment” to directly choose projects aimed at transforming their environment with immediate solutions and without intermediaries.
This consultation allowed communities to play a leading role in selecting community initiatives, aligned with the construction of direct democracy.
In his message, President Maduro thanked each spokesperson and community for their participation, whom he considered the architects of this “new step toward direct democracy.” He concluded his post by exclaiming: “A participation record… Total Victory!” thus sealing his positive assessment of the development and results of the journey.
