The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday the installation of the first Student Government Council. The ceremony took place at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, following the conclusion of the 747th Council of Ministers meeting, marking a milestone in youth participation.
During the event, the President emphasized the strategic importance of this measure, which seeks to directly integrate young people into the decision-making processes of the Bolivarian Government. He stressed that this initiative represents a formal channel for the student movement to present its programs, aspirations, and proposals:
«I want to officially announce that today, November 24, 2025, my first day of 63 years, I am overjoyed to officially install the first Student Government Council,» he expressed with visible emotion. He added that the Council of Ministers will now have a permanent seat for student representation.
The Venezuelan President explicitly requested the full support of his entire executive cabinet, including the Vice President and the sectoral vice presidents. He also asked that this initiative transcend the experimental stage and become a permanent reality within the government structure.
Following the formal installation, the President symbolically declared the Presidential Palace the property of Venezuelan youth. He made an inclusive appeal to all university students: “The homeland belongs to you. There is no exclusion here. Come and work with proposition, with good ideas.”
The Head of State concluded his remarks expressing full confidence that this experience of building the Central Power will be a “great success for the new democracy, the Bolivarian and socialist democracy.” This measure represents a significant step in the organic incorporation of youth into government management.
