In a message to the nation, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified last Sunday the goal of establishing and reaching the six thousand communes that the country requires to strengthen the People’s Power and territorial development.

Through an audiovisual presentation broadcast on his official channel on Telegram, the Head of State emphasized the need to unify the efforts of the nation-state and the people: “The efforts of the nation-state and the people must be unified, as they cannot be two separate things. We are going to establish and reach the six thousand communes that the country needs,” expressed the Dignitary.

In his address, President Maduro highlighted the importance of maximizing the nation’s resources to address the fundamental needs of the population. He also described the communal process as a fundamental pillar of the socialist project: “The process of the commune, of socialism at the local level, is the greatest achievement our people have made in decades; it builds its own power, and the independence of the Republic is founded on an empowered, conscious, and organized population,” he emphasized.

In other news, President Maduro extended a message to Christians in the United States and throughout the Americas, urging them to be defenders of peace and harmony: “From the homeland of the Liberator, Simón Bolívar, I send a message to Christians in the United States and throughout the Americas, so that we may be defenders and carry the banner of peace, harmony, and forgiveness. It is a sacred union that moves us!” he declared.

He affirmed that the “great mercy of the Lord” is a force that guides and protects, adding: “I know that God sees us, hears us, and protects us.”

To conclude his message, the President recalled a recent meeting with musicians from Miranda state, where they enjoyed the sound of the timbales. With this example, he underscored the spirit of resilience and joy of the Venezuelan people: “Here we resist with joy, “tumbao”, and Caribbean flair.”

With this announcement, the National Government reaffirms its commitment to the commune model as the cornerstone of social organization and territorial development, while projecting a message of faith and continental unity.
