The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, signed the law ratifying the Treaty of Strategic Association and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This step legally formalizes the strategic alliance agreement between the two nations, consolidating a long-term partnership.

The original document was signed last May 7 during the official visit of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to Moscow. Putin’s signature represents the culmination of the Russian ratification process, giving full force to the bilateral treaty.

One of the fundamental commitments of the agreement is the joint fight against the legacy of the colonial period and the falsification of the history of colonialism. Both countries commit to unanimously condemn racism, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.

The treaty also establishes a framework for cooperation on sensitive issues such as arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation. This collaboration seeks to actively contribute to ensuring international stability and global security.

The alliance reinforces the principle of equal and indivisible security for all states without exception. This approach aligns with the multipolar vision that both countries promote on the international stage in the face of unipolar power structures.

With this ratification, Russia and Venezuela deepen a strategic alliance that transcends conventional economic cooperation, positioning themselves as partners in the defense of an international order based on mutual respect, sovereignty, and historical justice.
