The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that each Obratón (“Works-a-thon”) constitutes a resounding proof of the effectiveness of the work method promoted by the Bolivarian Revolution. Through his channel on Telegram, the head of state emphasized that this form of organization «truly, truly works in practice.»
The Venezuelan president emphasized that these results give the historical reason to the founding leader of the revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, whom he described as «our historical commander and giant.» The vindication of the Chavista legacy is presented as a central foundation of the Obratón’s success.
As a tangible example of these achievements, he noted that as of last Monday, 20,000 projects built through the People’s Power had been delivered. The president described this achievement as «the miracle Chávez wanted for the nation,» highlighting the magnitude of the collective effort.
In his reflection, he emphasized the importance of maintaining and caring for what has been built: «We must stay on top of things, because otherwise, things deteriorate. He who doesn’t take care of what he has… And we don’t want to be left asking, right? We want to have, not ask.»
President Maduro also highlighted other complementary initiatives such as the Popular Self-Government Councils, the Military Community Brigades (Bricomiles), and the National Popular Consultations. These mechanisms represent the true popular constituent process in action.
