The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, confirmed that the Direction Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) will execute 27 territorial actions to guarantee peace and tranquility in the country. This activation is part of Operation Independence 200, deployed throughout the national territory.
Through a message on Telegram, the minister explained that the central purpose of these 27 tasks is to maintain daily life and avoid what he called a «strategic paralysis» of the nation. The senior official described these measures as a necessary response to the constant aggressions of the North American empire, which seek to destabilize the country.
The specific actions contemplated in this plan are diverse and broad in scope. Among them, the minister mentioned the verification of food reserves, hospital availability, the use of community radio stations, and all available means of communication. They also include the defense of cities, the protection of main access routes, and the execution of maritime patrols in ports and airports.
He emphasized the importance of fulfilling these tasks to «mobilize the national muscle.» He reinforced this call by quoting the Liberator Simón Bolívar before the Battle of Carabobo: «Inaction is not justified.» With this reference, the Minister of Defense emphasized that his job is to guarantee everything necessary to «avoid war and preserve peace.»
Regarding deployment, it was reported that the ODDIs have already been activated in several states, including La Guaira, Carabobo, Aragua, Falcón, and Zulia. The plan is to extend this activation to the rest of the national territory in the short term, consolidating the defense structure.
Finally, Minister Padrino López mentioned that the National Assembly will debate the activation of this body with the goal of passing it into law. This step would seek to formally institutionalize the functions and framework of the ODDI within the nation’s strategy of integral defense.
