Venezuelan students from the Scientific Seedbeds program achieved outstanding performance in the first International High School Nanotechnology Olympiad (INOHS 2025), earning gold, silver, and bronze medals in the competition organized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The national delegation was made up of six talented young people who demonstrated academic excellence and exceptional scientific abilities. Juan José Martínez Barreto won the gold medal, while Caridad Guerrero and Samuel Galbán earned silver. Students Luis Bermúdez, Isis Camacho, and Paola Planas completed the honor roll by earning bronze medals.

After the news was announced, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his appreciation through his official accounts on social media: «With national pride, I congratulate the Venezuelan students of the Scientific Seedbeds Program who won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the first International Nanotechnology Olympiad for High School,» stated the head of state.

This international achievement is the result of the promotion of scientific policies implemented by the National Government, particularly through the Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán Great Mission for Science, Technology, and Innovation. The Ministry of Science and Technology emphasized that these results demonstrate the success of the training strategies aimed at Venezuelan youth.

Previously, the Minister of People’s Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, published a congratulatory message with a call to «Let’s continue cultivating these talents that build the Venezuela of the future!», reaffirming the institutional commitment to the development of the national scientific potential. The event featured distinguished international judges who evaluated innovative projects and scientific capabilities.
