FANB sustains offensive with coherent strategies to defend peace and sovereignty

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) maintain a permanent offensive with coherent strategies to defend the peace and sovereignty of Venezuela. Thus was stated by the Sectoral Vice President for Defense and Sovereignty, General Vladimir Padrino López, during an operations review from the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base, highlighting the institution’s patriotic stance.

The also Minister of People’s Power for Defense emphasized that this offensive is a direct response to the presence of US warships in the Caribbean Sea, an area he qualified as of peace. He underscored the spirit of defense prevailing in Latin America, reaffirming the FANB’s determination to protect the nation’s integrity against any external threat.

As a key part of this defensive strategy, the senior official highlighted President Nicolás Maduro’s call for enlistment for the Bolivarian National Militia. He reported a record of more than eight million Venezuelans, of whom more than 60% have already received training, thus integrating the population into the national defense framework in the event of potential conflict scenarios.

This preparation is not limited to military matters. The minister noted that the FANB and other institutions have carried out activities to mitigate the risks of natural disasters, such as tsunamis, floods, and earthquakes. This training, he indicated, sparked the curiosity of the Venezuelan people, who observed these crisis management experiences with interest.

In the area of ​​internal security, General/J. Vladimir Padrino López detailed the deployment of the FANB in ​​different areas of the country to combat drug trafficking groups. This deployment is part of an integral strategy to combat this scourge, demonstrating the multifaceted role of the armed forces in protecting the national territory.

In a concrete balance of results, the sectoral vice president reiterated the seizure of more than 60 tons of drugs nationwide so far in 2025. He affirmed that there are no drug cultivation, processing, money laundering, or cartels in Venezuela, attributing the problem to a «minimal transit» that the forces are tasked with continuously stopping.

Through this report, the FANB reaffirms its stance of permanent offensive, combining the defense of sovereignty, citizen preparedness, disaster management, and the fight against drugs as interconnected pillars of its national security strategy for 2025.
