Civil and military authorities met to evaluate progress in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and outline the foundations of the 2026-2031 National Anti-Drug Plan. The meeting, led by the National Anti-Drug Superintendent, Maj. Gen. Danny Ferrer Sandrea, aimed to optimize processes for the frontal combat against this scourge.
The technical review took place at the headquarters of the Scientific, Criminal, and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC) in Caracas. The meeting was attended by a broad representation of the country’s security and justice agencies, demonstrating an integral approach to the strategy.
During the workday, those present presented the operational achievements in the interdiction of illicit drug trafficking. Likewise, prevention indicators were thoroughly analyzed, a fundamental pillar for discouraging the use and distribution of drugs.
A central point of the agenda was the review of the first phases of the National Anti-Drug Plan 2026-2031. This future plan is aimed at consolidating an integral, coordinated, and sustainable approach to drug control for the coming years.
M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea highlighted the importance of these inter-institutional meetings. He emphasized that they are vital spaces for optimizing the processes necessary to strengthen the fight against drugs in Venezuela.
With this roadmap, the Venezuelan authorities are outlining a medium- and long-term strategy. The objective is to consolidate a robust and coordinated system that more effectively addresses the drug problem in the country.
