The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that the Venezuelan people does not want a war. Through an audiovisual material published on his channel on Telegram, he emphasized that this sentiment is overwhelmingly felt by the majority, especially among the country’s youth.
He made this statement in reference to Venezuelan rapper Louis BPM’s participation in the Premios Juventud (Youth Awards). He emphasized that the message of peace the artist shared with Farruko represents the sentiment of the nation.
The president specified that 94% of the Venezuelan population rejects war. He criticized the «media laboratories» for attacking the artist with smear campaigns from abroad.
On another note, the head of state asserted that a new era of a multipolar world is consolidating. He said that this new order does not accept mandates, orders, or hegemony from any particular country.
He emphasized that, during the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the United States (US) and Israel were isolated, as the vast majority of countries are committed to a new era based on peace and cooperation. He emphasized that even far-right presidents avoided speaking out against Venezuela. This is evidence that the international community prefers diplomacy.
Finally, President Maduro congratulated his Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, for his speech at the UN. He praised his words as a necessary and encouraging message for humanity.
