FANB and militia strengthen land and sea maneuvers to safeguard sovereignty

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) carried out a caravan parade of military vehicles this Saturday, departing from Paseo Los Próceres (The Heroes Stroll), near Fort Tiuna (Caracas), and moving along the Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro Highway. The deployment constituted a show of force to reaffirm the institution’s willingness to confront any external threat that attempts to violate national sovereignty.

In this regard, the Vice President for the Defense and Sovereignty Sector, General Vladimir Padrino López, who led the caravan, recalled that during the governments of the Fourth Republic, the FANB was used to repress the people: «Unlike today, when the Bolivarian Revolution has demonstrated a great civic-military unity to defend the nation from any foreign threat,» he emphasized.

In parallel, the Bolivarian Fishermen’s Militia carried out six maritime mobilizations along the national coasts, specifically in the states Zulia, Falcón, Nueva Esparta, Miranda, La Guaira, Sucre, and Anzoátegui.

Prior to the activity in Caracas, the FANB carried out a series of military exercises on La Orchila Island until last Friday, as part of Operation Caribe Soberano 200 (Sovereign Caribbean 200). These maneuvers included the disembarking of units, securing the beachhead, and advancing toward previously established objectives, with the participation of officers of the Bolivarian Militia.

Likewise, were installed three fire support bases, with a deployment that integrated 30 mm cannons on VN-1 amphibious vehicles, a 105 mm cannon on VN-16, a 30 mm cannon on VN-18, a 20 mm cannon on Urutu EE-11, 12.7 mm machine guns, 106 mm recoilless cannons, 107 mm Tiuna RPE systems, in addition to the Bolivarian Army’s field artillery with 105 mm howitzers.
