The Minister of People’s Power for Interior Affairs, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, denounced a false flag operation orchestrated by the United States, the Venezuelan far right wing, and the government of Guyana. The objective is to falsely accuse Venezuela of drug trafficking to justify a military aggression in the Caribbean.
The senior official reported that the plan involves planting drugs on an oil tanker and presenting it as a Venezuelan vessel. He stated that Senator Marco Rubio is «determined to get Donald Trump’s hands full with blood» with this operation, which seeks to create a casus belli against the South American nation.
The accusation is based on the reading of a letter from a «Cooperating Patriot.» Cabello asserted that this narrative also seeks to justify the enormous US military expenditures deployed in the Caribbean region, calling the entire situation «a show to justify aggression against the Venezuelan people.»
Minister Cabello also repudiated what he described as contradictions in Washington’s version of events regarding an alleged attack on a vessel, noting that «now they don’t know if it’s (about) the Cartel de los Soles (Cartel of the Suns) or the Tren de Aragua (Aragua Train) criminal gang.»
He expanded on the denounce, asserting that Marco Rubio is seeking to pressure leaders across the continent to abandon their neutrality and join an attack against Venezuela. He noted that opposition leader María Corina Machado is expected to order actions against countries such as El Salvador, Panama, and Curaçao.
Finally, he identified John McNamara, of the US Embassy in Bogotá, as another key player. His plan would involve contacting and seducing disaffected opposition figures and «pseudo-Chavistas» to compile lists of names who could govern in a possible transition.
