President Nicolás Maduro announced this Monday that Venezuela will formalize its adherence to the Global Governance Initiative, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. This step, which will take place after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, seeks to promote peace, development, and a shared future for humanity.
During a press conference with representatives of the international media, the head of state emphasized that Venezuela’s incorporation into this initiative strengthens a global system based on harmony, cooperation, and the absence of supremacy: «We want a world without threats nor blackmail, where peace prevails,» he stated, underscoring the noble and peaceful nature of the Venezuelan people.
The Chinese initiative integrates three pillars: global development, global civilization, and global security. These initiatives seek to build a community of shared destiny, in line with Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy and the Venezuelan vision of universal balance, promoting a more just world order.
In his presentation, Xi Jinping advocated peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation. He proposed an equitable global governance system based on sovereign equality, international law, and multilateralism, with a focus on people’s needs.
Venezuela’s adherence to this initiative reflects its commitment to inclusive multilateralism. This movement strengthens ties with China and other SCO member countries, consolidating a vision of shared and sustainable development for the future.
This action positions Venezuela as a relevant player in building a new world order, focused on justice, equality, and international cooperation, distancing itself from hegemonic practices and centered on global well-being.
