The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that the country’s diplomacy is based on the peace and the nobility of its people. During a meeting with new ambassadors from friendly nations, he emphasized that this is the essence that guides the nation’s international relations.
The meeting served to strengthen ties with the ambassadors of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ivory Coast, Hungary, Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Belarus. The central objective was to finalize bilateral work agendas focused on commercial, cultural, and social development, building bridges of mutual cooperation.
The Venezuelan president emphasized that these alliances are consolidated on essential principles such as self-determination, respect among nations, unity, solidarity, and understanding. He emphasized that the countries present share a history of striving for peace in their respective regions, creating a solid foundation for collaboration.
In a clear message, the head of state contrasted Venezuelan diplomacy with other international practices: “Venezuela has an extraordinary diplomacy; it is not a diplomacy of gunboats or threats; ours is a diplomacy of dignity, an admired one”, he stated, alluding to recent geopolitical tensions.
He specifically referred to threats from foreign powers, mentioning the unprecedented threat to Latin America with a nuclear submarine. Regarding this, he was emphatic: “We do not consider ourselves as supremacists, nor will we accept tutelage from anyone,” defending national sovereignty.
Finally, President Maduro evoked history to highlight Venezuela’s resilience, comparing current threats to the Nazi attempt to intimidate President Isaías Medina Angarita. He emphasized that the Venezuelan people, noble and courageous, have never surrendered and will not bow down to modern threats, reaffirming their right to self-determination and peace.
