Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro responded this Monday to threats from US authorities with a firm message: “Do not dare to attack Venezuela, because the reaction could mean the beginning of the decline of the American empire.” He made these statements during his “Con Maduro+” program, in the segment dedicated to the country’s security and peace.
Maduro defined himself as “a man of peace, but a committed warrior” and asserted that he would never betray the Venezuelan people or the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez: “My loyalty to the Bolivarian project and to our homeland is unwavering, even beyond this life,” he stated during a meeting with ministers and senior military commanders.
He emphasized the importance of absolute loyalty, without compromise: «Either you are a patriot or you are not,» he emphasized. He also praised the training of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), highlighting the high academic and strategic level of the cadets from their first year of training. «Your anti-imperialist vision and your capacity for action are the guarantee of our sovereignty,» he concluded.
