In his «Con Maduro+” program, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reiterated the historic and strategic ties between his country and Colombia, noting that both nations are «called to work together for peace, integration, and cooperation, accepting their differences as brothers.»
The president highlighted the progress made in productive integration between the two countries, promoting trade and investment agreements in various economic sectors. These initiatives seek to strengthen bilateral relations and stimulate joint economic growth.
Maduro emphasized the importance of collaboration between Venezuela and Colombia in areas such as economy, institutions, security, and defense, in order to address common challenges and transform the border into a zone of peace and development.
One of the main objectives of this cooperation is to eradicate violence in Zone 1, which includes the Venezuelan states of Táchira and Zulia, as well as the Colombian departments of Bichada and La Guajira. This joint effort aims to guarantee security and sustainable progress in a region historically marked by conflict.
The president also highlighted the support of both countries for these agreements, recognizing their positive impact on the quality of life of their inhabitants. Finally, he announced that work continues on new agreements to consolidate a strong and lasting alliance between the two nations.
