Venezuelan Chancellor Yván Gil qualified the reward announced by US official Pamela Bondi against President Nicolás Maduro as “a ridiculous smokescreen”. Gil denounced it as a media ploy aimed at pleasing ultra-right wing Venezuelan sectors, while the Bolivarian government faces what he described as «terrorist plots promoted by the US.»
The Chancellor questioned Bondi’s credibility, citing her controversial history, including her involvement in the Epstein case and accusations of influence peddling: «It’s a crude propaganda operation, a desperate joke to hide their failures,» he affirmed.
Gil reaffirmed that these actions will not weaken Venezuela’s struggle against what he described as «foreign conspiratorial structures,» emphasizing: «The dignity of our homeland is not for sale.» He also reiterated the Venezuelan government’s commitment to sovereignty and defense against what he considers external interference.
The note concludes by noting that these accusations are part of a US strategy to destabilize the country through economic sanctions, media warfare, and support for opposition groups, with the alleged goal of overthrowing the Bolivarian Revolution.
