After 40 years of relations, diplomatic cooperation with Mali is consolidated

With the aim of consolidating the ties of strategic cooperation and friendship between both nations, President Nicolás Maduro met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali, Abdoulaye Diop. This meeting reinforces more than 40 years of diplomatic relations based on the promotion of peace, security, and the common struggle against imperialism, as well as the territorial defense and development of their peoples.

Venezuelan Chancellor Yván Gil stressed that this rapprochement ratifies cooperation in strategic areas, Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, and the construction of a multipolar world order. He also noted that there are currently Malian students in Venezuela who have completed their undergraduate studies, and 30 new scholarships are being arranged for young people from Mali.

During his visit, Minister Diop will hold meetings with Venezuelan authorities, including the heads of the Agriculture and University Education offices, as well as with representatives of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA-TCP). He will also participate in exchanges with regional organizations to strengthen solidarity and explore new strategic alliances.

As part of the progress made, both countries signed the Final Act of the 2nd Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism, a key step toward deepening collaboration in sectors such as education, health, energy, agriculture, trade, industry, and finance. Venezuelan Deputy Minister for Africa, Yuri Pimentel, accompanied the dialogues after receiving the Malian Chancellor at the Simón Bolívar International Airport.
