The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, made a call on the Venezuelan youth to lead a major communications offensive. During a meeting with the Youth General Staff, the president emphasized the importance of building a new communications system that integrates the streets, social networks, traditional media, and the «radio bemba” (word of mouth), considered a key weapon in the cognitive battle.
Through his accounts on social media, the president highlighted the fundamental role of young people in developing authentic leadership. He emphasized that their active participation in transmitting values is essential to demonstrate to the world that Venezuela works, builds, and develops from the ground up: «You have written a new history, and a good one,» he said, recognizing the efforts of the new generations.
The head of state emphasized that Venezuelan democracy must be participatory, day to day, and transformative. Following the teachings of Commander Hugo Chávez, Maduro urged people not to remain stuck in theory, but to promote an ideological and doctrinal renewal that empowers and educates: «It is a democracy of everyday life, which profoundly renews our revolutionary action,» he affirmed.
The national leader also called on mayors and elected opposition leaders to work alongside the youth: «It is very important to work with the youth in the country’s municipalities, who are the owners of the future,» he stated. Maduro advocated for joint efforts that allow them to transcend differences and build a common project.
This July 30, the president met with the Youth General Staff to oversee the progress of the projects selected in the National Youth Popular Consultation, held last July 27. In addition, were reviewed key aspects of the 7T Plan, a government strategy that seeks to boost national development.
