Head of State urges to consolidate government with a greater territorial presence

President Nicolás Maduro called for a transformation of the state management model towards one with greater territorial presence and less bureaucracy. During his speech, the president emphasized the need “to build an eminently popular government, less desks and more territory,» noting that this new approach requires direct work in the communities.

Maduro presented the results of the July 27 elections as support for his proposal, stating that the revolutionary forces increased their representation from 210 to 285, while the opposition had decreased from 125 to 50.

«The results speak for themselves. Those who want to work for the recovery of the country are welcome,» he declared, distancing himself from sectors he described as «fascist.»

The head of state reaffirmed his commitment to the participatory democracy model, highlighting the importance of coordinating government work directly with communities:

«We are prepared for this new stage of territorial construction, working from the grassroots, with the grassroots, and for the grassroots,» he concluded, reiterating his vision of a more decentralized state closer to the population.

These declarations come in the post-electoral context, where the government seeks to consolidate its territorial presence following the recent results, promoting a management model that prioritizes direct contact with communities over centralized administration.
