The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the success of the first National Youth Popular Consultation, held on July 27, as a historic event that has paved the way for the emergence of a new generation of leaders committed to the country:
«The Venezuelan youth has written an extraordinary page. Thousands of young people between the ages of 14 and 25 have expressed their willingness to work for their communities and for the homeland,» affirmed the dignatary.
As part of the results, the government will fund the 5,337 community projects that won first and second place in this consultation:
«We are moving forward step by step, strengthening a real and participatory democracy,» pointed out Maduro. The president also urged governors and mayors to join forces with the Seven Transformations Plan (7T) for national development, emphasizing that «power should not be in the hands of an elite, but of the people.»
He made a call for unity to reject fascism, foreign interference, and economic sanctions, reaffirming the commitment to Venezuela’s sovereignty and self-determination.
