The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the success of the first National Youth Consultation, held in conjunction with the municipal elections. He highlighted the massive participation of the youth and their commitment to building the country’s future:
«I am proud of the leadership of the youth; we have connected with the most beautiful thing, full of energy. We cannot fail,» said the president, who described the process as “a complete success.» He highlighted the enthusiasm and organizational capacity of this key sector for national development.
As a result of the consultation, 5,336 projects were approved, focusing on areas such as sports, culture, music, and youth entrepreneurship. Each initiative will be replicated in two spaces, expanding its impact to 10,672 projects throughout the country.
The head of state emphasized that the decision to hold the consultation alongside the municipal elections allowed for a greater participation and visibility of youth proposals: «There’s tremendous work ahead,» he stated, referring to the efforts required to implement each of the approved projects.
This consultation marks a milestone in youth inclusion in decision-making, demonstrating that younger generations have a leading role in the country’s transformation. The government assured that it will work to ensure to materialize all initiatives.
With this initiative, Venezuela reinforces its commitment to popular power and the active participation of young people, consolidating a model of participatory democracy where youth ideas are transformed into concrete actions.
