Venezuelan State condemns disinformation and harassment campaign by Volker Türk

Venezuela expressed its strong condemnation of a new report issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, which is considered blatantly disinformative against the nation. This was shared by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil on his channel on Instagram.

The statement rejecting the allegations against Venezuela was supported by the families of Venezuelans allegedly kidnapped in the United States and forcibly transferred to El Salvador.

Gil indicated that, with this report, the international organization «is redoubling its harassment of our country, motivated by political reasons.»

The diplomat accused the High Commissioner of a «double standard,» noting that he «has ignored the post-election fascist violence of the Venezuelan extreme right wing, as well as the systematic human rights violations suffered by immigrants in the United States.»

Likewise, the Chancellor denounced the fact that this informational distortion undermines the peoples of the world and, «ironically,» the fundamental principles established in the multilateral organization’s charter.
