“We advocate for a diplomacy that seeks engagement and dialogue, like the one we promote through OPEC Plus and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum,” said the Executive Vice President and Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, as she denounced from Venezuela the criminal and illegal “sanctions” against the main fossil fuel producing countries, which represent a threat to global energy security.
“On behalf of Venezuela and President Nicolás Maduro Moros, we participated in the Energy Panel of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, where we reflected on ways to guarantee energy security and stable development in a multipolar world,” she posted on her account in social media, where she published a testimonial video with her remarks from Caracas to the participants of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in Russia.
In the video, she explained that the vision of Venezuela and its associated producers is to respect the so-called «energy trilemma» to guarantee security, accessibility, and climate commitment for the benefit of humanity.
She affirmed that the priority is energy security, ensuring the necessary investment in fossil fuels to guarantee adequate supply, affordable prices, and, in addition, production with full respect for nature and the lowest possible environmental impact.
Rodríguez noted that conditions have been violated, and equality “is seriously compromised due to the imbalance that exists between the North and the South.»
«We hope that energy access will be available to all countries and all peoples. We hope that the peoples of Africa can also participate in these innovative mechanisms, and we hope that the energy transition represents true hope for humanity.»
