The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, extended his congratulations to Rander Peña upon his appointment as the new Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).
In a message posted on his channel on Telegram, the President stated: «I send my congratulations to the new Executive Secretary of the Alliance, Rander Peña, who will continue the work undertaken to achieve ALBA-TCP’s 2030 Strategic Agenda, with special emphasis on current initiatives such as AGROALBA, ALBA AZUL, and major development projects to meet the needs of our peoples.»
The head of state also took the opportunity to thank Jorge Arreaza for his previous work at the head of the secretariat:
«I extend my gratitude to Jorge Arreaza for the work carried out jointly to promote the integral consolidation process of ALBA-TCP.»
In this regard, he reaffirmed the Bolivarian bloc’s commitment to its founding principles, emphasizing that «the peoples and governments of the Alliance continue to build our own destiny: one of dignity, honor, equality, justice, democracy, and true freedom.»

The newly appointed Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP is a prominent Venezuelan diplomat and public official with extensive experience in foreign policy, international cooperation, and government management.
Peña Nieto has served as Deputy Minister for Latin America in the Venezuelan Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs and Director of International Organizations in the Deputy Ministry for Multilateral Affairs, demonstrating his expertise and knowledge of global policies.
He has also played key roles in the education and youth sectors, holding positions such as Vice Rector of Social Affairs and Citizen Participation at the National Experimental University of the Armed Forces (UNEFA) and Coordinator of International Affairs at the Ministry of People’s Power for Education.
He also served as Vice Minister of Organization of the New Homeland at the Ministry of People’s Power for Youth.
He has also served as Secretary General and Administrator in the Capital District Government, as well as General Manager of Regions at the Youth Institute.
