The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his firm rejection of the US government’s infamy in linking Venezuelan migration with criminal gangs:
«I completely reject, in the name of God the Father, the Creator, the infamy of that the Venezuelan migration is the Tren de Aragua (Aragua Train criminal gang) or criminals,» he stated.
The Venezuelan dignitary emphasized that «migration is not a crime, and our migrants are good, hardworking, honest people.» In this regard, he urged the population to reject these accusations made by the US government.

The head of state also detailed the march that brought thousands of people to the Venezuelan capital in solidarity with the families of those kidnapped in El Salvador and the United States.
He also highlighted that «in more than 100 cities around the world there were demonstrations and acts of solidarity with Venezuela,» noting that «a wave of solidarity with our people is rising.»
In his speech, the President affirmed that «we are good at fighting, at swimming against the current, and at winning amidst the worst adversities.»
The president also addressed the country’s economic situation, emphasizing that «along our path we have found a productive, self-sustaining, and diversified model to guarantee everything within Venezuela.»
Along these lines, he emphasized that «here we have everything we need to continue our march toward a solid economy.»
Addressing the Venezuelan people, he reiterated his commitment to the great missions promoted by the Government and their continued consolidation «to bring maximum social happiness to the people.»
The President also warned about the dangers of migration abroad, recalling that many young people are tempted by promises of wealth:
«Unfortunately, well, due to the same economic situation, maybe a friend abroad suddenly comes and says: ‘Here I have a car, I have the latest iPhone”, but he reminded that many of them found slave labor.
«And do you know what they found? Slave labor from sunrise to sunset, three jobs a day, seven days a week, without any rest. Those young men and that family, that young woman, are honest workers,» he emphasized.
Finally, President Nicolás Maduro reported that the migrants who are returning are doing so «out of their own free will, because we have recovered Venezuela and we are going to completely recover it to reunite the Venezuelan family.»
