CNE suffers new cyber attack affecting access to its website

This Monday, the National Electoral Council (CNE) has been the target of a new cyber attack against the spreading centers, which affects access to its website.

According to the official TV station Venezolana de Television, the attack has been against the spreading centers, where the official website is hosted.

The incident has been identified as a denial of service attack to saturate telecommunications links.

The attacks come from IP addresses located abroad the country, so the CNE is taking actions to mitigate the effects and restore the service.

This new cyber attack occurs after the agency announced earlier that it has reactivated the website and that it will publish the results in due time, complying with ruling No. 031 of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
