The investigations that have been carried out since 2017 against the former prosecutor and fugitive Luisa Ortega Díaz by the Public Ministry (MP) in Venezuela, were recently confirmed by an investigation carried out in the state of Florida in the United States (USA), whose authorities reported that the aforementioned citizen is being prosecuted for bribery and obstruction of justice.
The announcement was made by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, through a publication on his account on social media. The senior official of the Venezuelan State showed the international information that reveals the investigation against Ortega Díaz, for leading a bribery scheme so that businessmen and officials linked to acts of corruption would not be charged, at the time when she was the highest authority of the MP:
“This information corroborates the investigations carried out by the new Public Ministry since 2017 under our leadership: which indicate that she has been (together with her husband, Germán Ferrer) the supreme leader of an extortion cartel along with other directors of the Public Ministry,” he published on his account @TarekWiliamSaab.
The MP has 3 investigations open against Luisa Ortega Díaz for which two arrest warrants have been granted, and they proceeded to request her extradition from the country where she is hiding, so that she can face justice.
