President Maduro announced the return of 177 migrants rescued from Guantanamo by the Plan Vuelta a la Patria

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Thursday, February 20, the rescue of 177 Venezuelan migrants who were at the US military base in Guantanamo, through a flight of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland Plan) that made a stop in Honduras:

«One of the wounds that we are healing, from the missiles and sanctions that the extreme right wing asked for”, he pointed out while denouncing that the opposition extremism manipulated public opinion with the forced migration that they themselves caused.

During his participation in the High Level Workshop of the Popular Government held in La Carlota, Miranda state, the President asserted that the Bolivarian Revolution has as its mission the safe return of Venezuelan migrants to the country.

Do come back, this is your homeland, one of happiness and truth,” he said.

During the announcement, the head of state emphasized that the US agencies DEA and FBI financed, directed and brought the extinct criminal Tren de Aragua (Aragua Train) gang to the United States (US); for which he called on his US counterpart, Donald Trump, to request the truthful reports from the offices in Colombia of the aforementioned agencies:

May you know [Donald Trump] that here in Venezuela we defeated, dismembered and put an end to that criminal and violent group that tried to be used from Colombia, with deep ties to the Biden administration, to bring terrorism here to the country,” he said.

President Maduro stressed that Venezuelan migrants are not criminals, but people who migrated as a result of (United States) sanctions:

They are good, hard-working people; and in Venezuela we welcome them as a productive force with a loving embrace. Return to the homeland, family reunion! he said.
