The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday the first discussion of the Draft Law Approving the Framework Agreement for Agricultural Cooperation, adopted at the 24th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), in accordance with the provisions of article 104 of the Internal Regulations and Debates of the AN.
The bill was presented by Deputy Roy Daza, who highlighted the importance of the integration of Latin America for the added value it brings to the economies of the ALBA-TCP countries that practice cooperation and exchange, complementarity and mutual benefit:
“The ideas formulated in the framework project contemplate productive and equitable development, which in turn has the axes of technical cooperation, production and productivity, the diversification of our agriculture, agro–alimentary trade between countries and the promotion of investments. State, private and multi-country investments acting in conjunction with actions aimed at raising agriculture in our countries,” emphasized Daza.
This agreement was presented on February 3 by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro during the – telematic – meeting of the countries that make up ALBA-TCP, where he highlighted the importance of consolidating the issue of AgroAlba, to advance and consolidate advanced concepts in agriculture, guaranteeing the production and export of organic foods, compared to those produced through transgenic seeds and agrochemical pesticides.
In this sense, they will develop the 1st Agroalba 2025 Fair, an event that is held to exchange productive experiences, investments, among other topics.
