AN rejects USAID financing to Venezuelan far right wing

The National Assembly (AN) rejected and repudiated this Tuesday the recent discoveries about the financing to sectors of the Venezuelan far right from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the confessions of the mercenary Jordan Goudreau in relation to the plans to assassinate Venezuelan political leaders, by a fascist and narco-paramilitary sector.

During her intervention in plenary, the deputy Blanca Eekhout condemned these actions that sought the invasion, interference and destruction of the country, under the guise of financing to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and how the confession of the American mercenary demonstrates what the National Government and the Legislative Power had previously denounced:

We are faced with a fact – we already knew it – there is a confession that all these NGOs have been financed by USAID to destabilize, bring war, to assassinate presidents. How they developed an absolutely criminal scheme where they covered up different NGOs for Human Rights, defense of prisoners, linked to freedom of the press, for a plan of destabilization and death,” said Eekhout.

He also pointed out that simultaneously while the US applied unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela, they financed the different groups and NGOs with the excuse “to help migrants, defend human rights and democracy,” as part of the war actions against the country.

Jordan Goudreau confessed, what he had already denounced to our president of the AN, that camps had been created to train paramilitaries, mercenaries, criminals and to carry out a military and interventionist intervention, a death operation,” he added.

For his part, the president of the AN, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, expressed that the large multinational communication companies are slow to present information and complaints made by the National Government about the different destabilizing plans that try to end the constitutional thread, as well as the violence unleashed against the Venezuelan people from 2018 to date:

I want to express my concern and surprise at the time it takes the large Western media conglomerates to give, value a news item or combine an investigation. Between 2018 and 2025, seven years; between 2020-2025, five years (…) I am referring to when we point out with evidence all the events that are now appearing in the media as if they happened yesterday. The common practice is to deny any form of news, information, investigation and evidence that the Bolivarian Revolution presents,” asserted Rodríguez.

The statements by the President of the Legislative Branch correspond to the complaints and presentation of evidence of the attempts of invasion, incursion into the country, as well as the assassination plans against the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro during the 2018-2025 term.
