President Nicolás Maduro participated in inauguration of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center in Havana

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, participated this Thursday night in the inauguration of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, from the Turquino amphitheater of the same institution, in the Plaza de la Revolución (Revolution Square) municipality of Havana, Republic of Cuba.

The opening ceremony of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, which was held on the date that commemorates the fifth anniversary of the physical departure of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, constitutes the central national activity for this anniversary.

A colorful staging of a play by the La Colmenita Children’s Theater Company, created especially for this occasion, took a walk through Fidel’s Revolution, and the meaning that the leader gave to the revolutionary administration.

Boys and girls dedicated the piece “I am Fidel” to the leader, with a musical and personified journey of the iconic work, thought and life of Commander Fidel.

The birth of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center is the result of Law 123 approved by the National Assembly of People’s Power, of Cuba, on December 27, 2016, which, although it prohibited the use of the name of Fidel Castro in squares, streets and other monuments, made the provision, exceptionally, to create a center that would bear his name.

This Thursday, in the @centrofidel account of the Twitter social network, a message was published in which is highlighted: “The close ties that have united the peoples of #Cuba and #Venezuela are reinforced today more than ever. Thanks to the president @NicolasMaduro for continuing the legacy of #Chávez and accompanying us in this tribute to the historic leader of the # Cuban Revolution #FidelVive #GraciasFidel ”.
