The Vice President of Citizen Security, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported that more than 400 firearms were seized, including high-caliber rifles and pistols, which would be used by fascist sectors of the Venezuelan extremist opposition to generate chaos, destabilization and to attack State institutions and facilities.
During a press conference, the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, also denounced that this weaponry comes from the United States and entered the country illegally, «in normal shipments through containers, camouflaged in dog food.»
Cabello said that it is an operation that has been closely monitored by the Venezuelan intelligence agencies, since “they were stealing people’s names to go unnoticed.”
In this sense, he stressed that a follow-up was carried out to find those responsible for this maneuver that intended to disrupt the peace of the nation.
The vice president of the sector stressed that behind this nefarious operation in arms trafficking is Ivan Simonovis and announced that there is already a group of people arrested who are part of this network.
“We carried out raids and obtained some rifles that they intended to use in violent acts.”
With the transmission of a video, the minister revealed that from the United States, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) itself verified in Orlando, Florida, in a parcel service, the shipment of the weapons and there were no arrests:
“They allowed that operation to continue,” denounced Cabello, who sentenced that these weapons were not for exhibition:
«They were intended for terrorist acts that were going to occur in the country, promoted by political sectors in Venezuela,» warned the head of the Internal Relations, Justice and Peace office.
