The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects, in the strongest terms, the new crime of aggression committed by the United States government against the homeland of Bolívar by imposing unilateral, illegitimate and illegal coercive measures on a group of State officials, as indicated in the statement released by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil.
The document indicates that with these measures, the United States Government once again demonstrates its total disregard for international law, the self-determination of peoples and the democratic will of Venezuelans, «in a rude act that seeks to ingratiate itself with a political class that has resorted to fascist and violent practices to overthrow, without success, the Bolivarian democracy.»
It affirms that the wrongly called «sanctions»; “which have been shamefully promoted by the fascist extreme right wing, break and violate the agreements signed in Qatar and seek to impose on an entire country and its institutions the policies of ‘regime change’ as part of the Monroe Doctrine. Little can be expected from the most hostile and bloodthirsty power that humanity has ever known, responsible for millions of murders in the world with genocidal partners and a history of indifference to the needs of its own citizens.”
He points out that the United States government “will once again follow the path of failure and will be defeated by the dignity of Venezuela. The multi-centered and multi-polar world that Commander Hugo Chavez spoke of has become a reality and there will be no aggression or threat that will separate the homeland of Bolivar from its leading role, while the practices of Imperialism succumb to its systemic moral misery.”
The government of the aggressor State isolates itself in its frustration, while Venezuela grows and wins. This attack against people who, day after day, defend the sovereignty and peace of the Nation only confirms their willingness to sacrifice and deserve the recognition of the entire population. The aggressor forgets that the Liberator, Simón Bolívar, made clear the horizon to follow when he said: “He who abandons everything to be useful to his country, loses nothing and earns everything he consecrates to,” concludes the statement.
