The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, appointed Diosdado Cabello as the new Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace; and also Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, replacing Admiral in Chief Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, “who will go on to fulfill new functions.”
During the general balance of the second Popular Consultation, the head of State stated that he has decided to incorporate comrade Diosdado Cabello as the new minister because he has been one of the leaders who is always with the Venezuelan people to guarantee peace: “If anyone likes to be with the people and walk with them, it is Diosdado, he brings luck and helped Commander Chávez to consolidate peace. He knows a lot about justice and has led the first steps of the Venezuelan revolution.”
In turn, President Maduro expressed his gratitude to Remigio Ceballos for his work as minister: “Remigio, thank you for giving us three exemplary years, where you deepened the peace quadrants.”
For his part, the new minister Diosdado Cabello recalled that he was in charge of this Ministry 22 years ago: “I was Minister of the Interior in 2002. Let us remember those fascist marches that they made with torches, we were in that battle alongside Commander Chávez and the people, and we defeated them. Venezuela is heading towards peace with justice.”
