Before a massive gathering, in the Plaza Bolívar-Chávez located in La Guaira state, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, unveiled the new statue of the Commander of the Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, which was torn down by the “comanditos” of the extreme right wing on July 30, amidst their fascist actions.
The head of State said that the purpose of this meeting with the people of La Guaira “is to place, in record time, the new monument in homage to the leader of the Revolution” in an act of historical vindication and love. “Why so much hatred against the symbols of the Homeland? What do they fear from Hugo Chávez? Why are they trying to take revenge on Hugo Chavez?» he asked, rejecting the acts of vandalism by extremist opposition sectors.
He stressed that the hatred that the extreme right wing spreads responds to the intention of destroying the ideological, spiritual and moral strength of the revolutionaries: «They wanted to frighten the population,» said the national leader, who clarified that the people did not surrender, will not surrender and that peace has triumphed in Venezuela.
President Maduro also stated that this vindication of Commander Chavez also represents a tribute to the cacique (chiefs) men and women, Naiguatá, Guaicamacuto, Pariata, Maiquetía, Coromoto,» original inhabitants of the central coast who fought many battles and sowed the resistance of the people who never surrendered.
