Head of State called on the Venezuelan people to defend the historical figure of Ezequiel Zamora


On Tuesday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, invited the Venezuelan people to attend the civic-military parade that will be held this Wednesday at the Paseo Los Próceres (The Heroes Stroll) in Caracas, to pay tribute to the Bicentenary of the birth of the Venezuelan hero Ezequiel Zamora , “The General of the People”.

During the Council of Ministers number 250, held at Miraflores Palace, the National President stressed that all Venezuelan youth should attend the commemorative events to be held in all squares of the country.

“I invite you, there are tributes in all the squares of the country, civic-military expressions in all states, municipalities, parishes, we will raise the national flag in tribute to Zamora. An extraordinary civic-military parade, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the People’s Power have been prepared to pay homage to him with love, with admiration, with respect, as one must act with the great heroes, with the great leaders”, he said.

The Head of State repudiated the statements by deputy (Henry) Ramos Allup against this hero of the Homeland: “No one in this country had ever referred, the way Ramos Allup did, against our General of the Sovereign People, Ezequiel Zamora.”

He called on the population to express their rejection and defend the memory of Ezequiel Zamora. “I call on the whole country to come out to repudiate the statements made by Deputy Ramos Allup, and to defend the historical figure of Ezequiel Zamora, I call on the people,” he emphasized.
