This Wednesday, the Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, in a press conference, reported that there are 1,062 detainees for acts of violence in the country, after the presidential elections on July 28.

There are 1,062 detainees, those who are found responsible will remain deprived of their freedom for many years; we have 77 officials injured and one murdered in Aragua state. It was necessary to show the advances. This Public Ministry (MP) has open files of several intellectual authors, in each case we do not rule out new arrests with these intellectual authors,” he added.

In this sense, he pointed out that the Public Ministry (MP) has been key to maintaining the peace of the country and its officials have not stopped maintaining the plan that was planned: “Venezuela was 100% normal without any incident to regret, but there have been outbreaks that generate a wave of violence, they want to repeat the “Caracazo” (*) and they have no way to do so, they want the poorest neighborhoods to take the streets, (but) the people is aware and know that they are murderers.”

He requested that “in this upside-down world, criminals surely appear as political prisoners and persecuted. I repeat, do not be surprised, because it is the custom. This is the new phase of the hybrid war, like a blender they put in a single scenario attacks on networks, statements, bots, to generate rage and justify lynchings. A good decision of the Executive is to defend the popular leaders.”

He also indicated that those responsible for claiming fraud are the intellectual authors of these events, they are the ones who send them to commit these actions. “This is really execrable, they will say that Venezuela discriminates against these people for political reasons and puts them in jail.”

No one should be surprised that international organizations come to say that these criminals were witnesses at the electoral tables. I have no doubt that the international organizations will say that they are alleged political prisoners who belonged to the Comanditos,” he said.

Likewise, he revealed that he appointed the 2nd National Prosecutor’s Office to charge those responsible for creating fake videos of violence with the crimes of simulating a punishable act and spreading messages that cause anxiety and panic in the population.

*: The “Caracazo” refers to the popular uprising of February 27, 1989, when the

people of the popular and poorest neighborhoods took the capital city by assault as a violent response in protest of then government of Carlos Andres Pèrez’s anti-popular economic measures of austerity and restrictions, complying with orders of the International Monetary Fund – IMF.
