Venezuela and Türkiye strengthen alliances in the petrochemical and mining sectors

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the signing of three agreements between the South American nation and Türkiye, for the exploration and commercialization of minerals such as gold and copper, as well as other production areas such as gas and petrochemicals, an action that reinforces the investment and productive participation contract for the development of activities between both countries.

In this sense, the national leader highlighted the strategic importance of the alliances established with Türkiye in the petrochemical, gas and mining sectors: “We are sealing strategic projects with a win-win alliance between Türkiye and Venezuela.”

The head of state stressed the importance of Turkish investment in gold production and the Mining Arc, designed by Commander Chávez, with the hope that these projects will become examples of ecological development that is respectful of nature.

As part of these agreements, Venezuela and Türkiye also signed documents for the construction of a petrochemical production plant. “Pequiven, with its power, establishes a first-level strategic alliance to build a new plant with the best technology available. We already have new steps planned to advance the development of Venezuela’s immense petrochemical potential,” said President Maduro.

«Pdvsa will not be privatized, in accordance with the law and the Constitution, Venezuela will continue to search for investments, technology and future markets for Venezuelan gas.» stated the national leader, when highlighting the alliance between Ankara and Caracas that extends to the development of natural gas for export.

Among the agreements signed are included the concession for the exploration and exploitation of minerals, gold and copper, as well as their commercialization, also as a strategic alliance for the development of the natural gas value chain and the investment and productive participation contract for the development of petrochemical activities.

Venezuela and Türkiye: A historical and cultural link:

President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the deep historical connection between Venezuela and Türkiye, while highlighting the figure of the Venezuelan soldier and writer from Táchira state, Rafael de Nogales Méndez, who became an officer in the Turkish army: “It is a people of warrior heroes, honor and glory to that brave man who shed his blood in battle with the Türkiye uniform.”

In his speech, the head of state stated that Venezuela sees Türkiye as a sisterly nation, whose culture is influenced by both Europe and Asia. In turn, he emphasized the importance of this cultural and geographical relationship, as well as the richness and diversity that characterizes that country. Finally, he expressed his admiration for the Turkish people, describing them as an example of bravery and honor.
