The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during the beginning of his “Con Maduro+” program, indicated that six years ago the Venezuelan people gave a lesson in conscience and capacity in the face of attempts to sabotage the 2018 presidential elections.
The head of state made reference to the presidential elections of May 20 (2018), where he was re-elected as national leader. In that sense, he stressed that “from the north they said no, that they already knew who they were going to put as president, a gallo tapao (hidden rooster), and our people, that day, gave a lesson and we had a victory of conscience, wisdom and popular force.”
“It was the victory for a stage of resistance, in which we were learning, making ourselves, remaking ourselves, creating, recreating ourselves; and also today, May 20, becomes two years old that little boy that we saw growing up: The 1 × 10 of Good Government, with a record of four million solutions built from the People’s Power, from the local scope”, he added.
On the other hand, he took the opportunity to strengthen brotherhood with the Islamic Republic of Iran, after the sensitive death of President Ebrahim Raisi, in a plane accident on the border with Azerbaijan, this Sunday:
“With Iran we can not only say that we are friends, that we are allies, no! With Iran today we can say: We are brotherly peoples, and as brotherly peoples, our solidarity and all our support. President Ebrahim Raisi, wherever you are, here you have confidence that Venezuela will continue in battle, in victory, united with the people of Iran,” he added.
In turn, he indicated that he conveyed to Mohammad (Mokhber) and the supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, “the condolences of our people, the deep feelings of our people, of solidarity with the brave and heroic people of Iran. With the family of our friend, our brother, President Ebrahim Raisi who left for eternity.”
