The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, denounced that the United States Government violates the fundamental principles of sport, by denying, in an unjustified manner, the country’s participation in the Assembly of the American Sports Council (CADE), held in Washington.
Through a statement, the Venezuelan Chancellory indicated that the national government, in light of the situation that occurred at the 24th Assembly of the American Sports Council and other instances, which on this occasion is based in the city of Washington, has unjustifiably denied accreditation and access to the representative designated by Venezuela:
“The rejection of this action of interference by the Department of State of the United States of America, on the pro-tempore Presidency of this independent council that did not allow the participation of our country, which represents a flagrant violation of what is established in the internal regulations and fundamental principles of Olympism,” reads the communiqué.
Finally, Venezuela ratifies its firmness and commitment to dialogue and respectful cooperation, by strengthening policies that revitalize sporting values.
