Deputy Jorge Rodríguez proposes creating a law that punishes treason

The president of parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, proposed to the Permanent Commission of Internal Policy to work on a legal instrument that broadly and fully develops article 130 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in order to severely punish crimes against sovereignty, cultural values and integrity of all Venezuelans:

“Listen, traitor men and women, Article 130 reads to safeguard and protect sovereignty, nationality, territorial integrity, self-determination and the interests of the nation,” he said.

He assured that there is no citizen in any country in the world who has requested the invasion of enemy armies into their own country, the way spokespersons for some sectors of the Venezuelan opposition have done:

“In the legislation of all countries, they protect themselves from traitors, they protect themselves from scabs, from beachheads. It is insufficient from the point of view of the serious events that we have seen against the Republic, against our territory, in recent years,” indicated the AN president.

“Those slaves of the gringos, men and women traitors to the country, who crawl and kneel, with the greatest impudence have called for invasions and violence. (They have called for) the assassination of the President of the Republic, calling for and applauding invasions of mercenaries in our land. Sooner rather than later, what awaits them is jail, what they deserve. It is a severe penalty for having attacked the sovereignty of the Republic, our values,” he stressed.

In this way, he considered that the AN is obliged to make that law: “One that is very severe, a draconian one”. He recalled that the National Constitution states that Venezuelans have the duty to honor and defend the country.
