Venezuela resists and advances victoriously as it marks 9 years of the US intervention decree

On March 9, 2015, then president of the United States (USA), Barack Obama, issued a decree that describes Venezuela as an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy” of the North American country; Eight years later, the Venezuelan people, together with President Nicolás Maduro, remain in resistance to the consequences of imperial action, managing to overcome adversity and standing firm towards the real recovery of the national economy.

According to analysts, these kind of measures are a precedent to justify an US intervention in countries designated as a “threat” to its political and economic interests, as part of the “maximum pressure” policy applied by imperialism with the aim of overthrow governments that are not subordinate to their designs, as is the case of Venezuela.

Once Executive Order 13692 was announced, commonly known as the “Obama decree”, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, headed by President Maduro, spoke out to repudiate the hostile policy of the White House, which would pave the way for the imposition of more than 900 unilateral coercive measures against the economic stability of the South American nation.

In this sense, Venezuela began a national campaign to demand the US Government to repeal the interventionist measure, for which a house-by-house signature collection process was activated, as part of the “Obama, repeal the decree now” campaign. which, in principle, had the objective of reaching 10 million signatures, but exceeded expectations, adding around 13 and a half million signatures that, at the time, were sent to Washington, without obtaining a response.

The consequences derived from this criminal policy of North American imperialism have repercussions on the well-being of an entire people, all of which has been denounced, with evidence, before the International Criminal Court (ICC), the United Nations (UN) and other multilateral spaces, such as a flagrant violation of the human rights of Venezuelan men and women.

Renewal of attacks:

On March 6, just as every year since 2015, the now occupant of the White House, Joe Biden, renewed the aforementioned executive order, thus continuing the criminal aggression against the Venezuelan people.

Once again, the Bolivarian Government condemned in a statement the unfounded claim that the nation represents some kind of threat against the United States, “even more so when it is evident that Venezuela has been the country that has had to face a multiplicity of threats, blackmail, attacks, and attacks that violate the human rights of the entire Venezuelan people, that violate the norms established in international public law and constitute a crime against humanity.”

Every March 9 we commemorate Bolivarian Anti-imperialism Day in tribute to the patriotism and courage of the Venezuelan people who, in the face of the threat of North American imperialism, maintained a position worthy of defense of national sovereignty, a historical legacy of our… pic.twitter.com /6HxWnvqUXY”
