The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that the president of Colombia is preparing provocative actions on the border to create a war situation.
«I denounce to the world that Juan Manuel Santos is preparing macabre plans to leave a situation of warlike confrontation between Colombia and Venezuela on the border,» he said during the presentation of the credentials that certify him as president-elect before the ANC
«I call to the defense of Venezuela on the part of all those who feel patriotic (…) a great broad front of defense of Venezuela, national and international».
He ordered as Commander in Chief of the FANB to deploy, with maximum intelligence, prevention and defense capacity of the country. He instructed the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, G / J Vladimir Padrino López, to alert his Colombian counterpart of these plans.
«We know more than what we say and we know more than they think. What I want is peace, brotherhood, prosperity, love, with Colombia», he said.
During his speech the President said he is not intimidated by the sanctions imposed by the US Government.
«The sanctions requested by Mr. Antonio Ledezma, Julio Borges and the Venezuelan right wing and signed by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, last Monday, hit all the people of Venezuela,» he said.
He added that these actions will cause serious difficulties, which will be faced and overcome.
