More than 200 representatives of indigenous peoples and communities participated in the 7T conservatory, which took place in the Mara municipality of Zulia state, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day and the International Decade of Indigenous Languages. which was organized by the Ministry of People’s Power for Education.
In this sense, the Minister for Education, Yelitze Santaella, indicated that during the conversation, the social spokespersons debated the importance of preserving the languages of the native peoples, with a spiritual and historical sense: “A thousand congratulations to our indigenous peoples and communities that today they debate, that today they propose and that together we are on the right path of searching, precisely, for the recognition, for the reactivation, of our mother tongue, of our ancestral culture, of our sovereignty,” highlighted Santaella.
For his part, Luis Caldera, mayor of the Mara municipality, recalled that the Bolivarian government vindicated the right of indigenous peoples: «On February 21, Mother Language Day, the Bolivarian government is today remembering its historic commitment that Commander Chávez made on March 20, 1998, of settling the historical debt and in that sense, with an indigenous sister with Minister Santaella,” said Caldera.
In this regard, the president of the National Institute of Indigenous Languages, Jorge Pocaterra, during his participation, explained that this activity represents a meeting of community and pedagogical experiences, where ethnolinguistic niches are installed, which guarantee teaching and preserve the culture of the languages. indigenous people of Zulia state.
Likewise, during the course of the journey, Minister Santaella reported that through the VenApp of the 1×10 of good government, kitchens, fans, tables, uniform chairs and school supplies were provided to 57 educational institutions of the entity.
