President Maduro: Direct and social democracy prevails in Venezuela thanks to the Constitution

Highlighting the 25 years of creation of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the head of State, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that the Venezuelan people are prepared to face any attack from extremist sectors that oppose the Bolivarian Revolution:

This Constitution, which turns 25 this year, is the first Constitution in the history of Venezuela that was made in public consultation, with open doors, with the participation of all social, political, and cultural sectors of the Republic, to design the long project of the country,” expressed the Venezuelan president from the headquarters of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), during the solemn session of Opening of Judicial Activities 2024.

In this sense, he specified that since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez, Venezuelan history has been marked by direct and social democracy, “because we are men of the people, we have never been part of any elite, we are not those of surnames, we are those who are in the streets, there is our school, our trenches, our fighting front.”

He denounced that “they wanted to kill the Constitution (…) they stabbed it, they tried to end it before it grew,” while exalting the socialist and rebellious character that has permeated the people in defense of the Bolivarian Revolution.

In this regard, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the work of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in defending sovereignty against terrorist attacks from the United States.

Do you want to know what a rebellion is? We already taught you that once, we are ready to teach you whenever necessary, to defend this country. (We are) prepared for whatever may comes out, when it comes out and where it comes out, to defend the Homeland, the Constitution and the people,” he concluded.
